A home is not defined by where it is, but by how deeply it understands the person who lives within it.
The Sea of Love Apartment was created for a Portuguese client in her late thirties living in Milan. She’s a writer and entrepreneur, whose life moves between ambition and retreat.
Before any plans were drawn, the project began with our Atmosphere Session. What emerged was clear: she was deeply connected to the sea, to ritual, to beauty. She needed privacy, emotional softness, and spaces that restored her nervous system after the intensity of her professional life.
Set within a generous three-bedroom residence, two rooms were transformed into a calm office and an inspiring dressing. The private zones became slower, softer and more restorative.
The social areas, by contrast, were given presence and character.
The concept drew from two geographies that shape her sensibility: Portugal and Italy.
The palette was built around emotional response, filled with soft linen, terracotta, and warm mineral tones create softness and grounding. Chocolate browns adds depth and amber brings sensual warmth and evening glow. Our accent colour was naturally the blue of the Atlantic, inspiring inner expansion.
At the centre of the living room, a fireplace became an emotional anchor: warmth for winter evenings, a visual pulse, a place to read and retreat. The television was integrated discreetly through a framed solution, allowing the room to orient around atmosphere rather than screens.
The most indulgent gesture was the creation of a ten-square-metre private bathroom conceived as a personal spa. A place for candles, warmth, steam and solitude. A room dedicated not to function alone, but to restoration.
